Diablo III music theme available as free iTunes download

It's almost a certainly that we have many, many, many months before the release of Blizzard's fantasy action-RPG sequel Diablo III but at least you can get a free listen to some of the music created for the game ahead of time. Apple's iTunes download service has offered up the "Diablo III Overture" as a free download as part of their Discovery Download program.

The theme, credited to the Russell Brower and the Eminence Symphony Orchestra was used as the music for the cinematic Diablo III trailer that was used to introduce the game last June. Of course you can check out that trailer right here at Big Download which also happens to be free. The wait for playing Diablo III is, of course, priceless. source>>>

Wii Music: A dancing robot plays the flute

he latest in Nintendo's "Today's Instrument" series of Wii Music demonstration videos features an e-flautist playing the game's virtual flute. Like every other non-made-up instrument in Wii Music, if you know what someone looks like playing the real thing, you have a good idea of what it looks like in the game. To play the flute, you pretty much hold the thing out and jam on the 1 and 2 buttons.

As it turns out, holding your hands out in front of you like that and occasionally bending a little at the waist bears an uncanny resemblance to the average attempt at the Robot. She's a dance-dance dance-dance dancin' machine, inadvertently! source>>>

Google AdSense For Video Hits Beta

Google AdSense For Video Hits Beta

Big publishers (and Bob Vila) take note

This time, Google's beta tag means something - to become a user,
publishers will need to have English-language, U.S.-based sites,
and serve at least one million video streams per month. But, beta
tag or not, AdSense for video has officially arrived.

Google has promised that it will expand the program "in the near
future." Meanwhile, sites like BobVila.com, MyDamnChannel, and
blip.tv are getting to experience a sort of test drive. And for
a description of what they're seeing (we're assuming you don't
want to chase down and sit through random videos), we can turn
to the Official Google Blog.

Shamim Samadi and Ryan Hayward write, "This approach takes the
same non-intrusive InVideo ad format used on YouTube and extends
it across video partner sites on the Google Content Network. This
enables advertisers to run a single campaign across the largest
network of online video content."

Also, in the event that you want to watch a carefully selected
clip, something on the Inside AdSense blog provides more
information about Google, video content, and revenue.

All of this points back to what we covered in the opening: if
you're not close buds with Google, AdSense for video is still a
little out of reach. There's no reason you can't scope it out,
though, and be ready to accept (or reject) the program as it
approaches a wider release.

Apple on Tuesday shuffled (har, har) its lineup of matchbook-size digital music players, announcing a new iPod Shuffle with double the storage space and slashing the price of its 1GB models to $49.

Apple dropped the price of its 1GB iPod Shuffle to $49 and said it'll start selling 2GB models for $69 later this month.

The 2GB version of the screenless flash memory-based player will cost $69 and be available for sale later this month, Apple said in a statement. That's less than the previous price for a new 1GB model, at $79. (Apple has, however, been selling refurbished 1GB Shuffles for $49 in recent months.)

Both models, which sport a built-in clip, are slated to come in five colors: silver, blue, green, purple, and red--for the (Product) Red lineup, a corporate charity movement that donates a portion of sales from designated products to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.

Apple released the second generation of the teensy gadget, which weighs half an ounce and measures half a cubic inch in volume, in November 2006. It has refreshed the Shuffle's colors on a few occasions since then. source

The software will allow the sharing of music bought on iTunes
The release of software from a firm run by a notorious Norwegian hacker is likely to cause waves in the music and film download world.

Jon Lech Johansen became the "enfant terrible" of the DRM industry when he released software which cracked the encryption codes on DVDs, aged just 15.

His firm, DoubleTwist, has now released software allowing users to share digital media files across devices.

It would allow songs bought on Apple's iTunes to be shared on other devices.

At the moment, the only portable music player which can store content downloaded from the iTunes store is Apple's iPod.
